Not so Wordless Wednesday

Awww Man! Hayden is sick! We almost made it through the entire season without one cold. Not even one! I just knew he wasn't acting like himself and I even told Greg at dinner that I'd bet him $100 that Hayden would wake up in the middle of the night. And sure enough, he did! He's all feverish, snotty, runny eyed, sneezing, and coughing. I hate it when he's sick, it doesn't happen very often but he's just so pitiful. Today is a jammy day. He's resting in his recliner with Buzz and Woody. I pray that Greg doesn't get sick because he's such a baby when he has a cold.

Keep your fingers crossed I didn't win :(

I really really want this. The Pioneer Woman has another giveaway and this time she's giving away my mixer. I really want to win this so please keep your fingers crossed.

Flea Market and Pullen Park

I was going to put up a few not so good pictures of Hayden on the slide. But, I decided that the picture above describes our day better than any other picture could. Hayden just loves his Daddy and to spend an entire day with him is so special. I don't think he said my name one time while we were out yesterday, everything was all about Dad. And I like it that way. We spent the morning rummaging through junk at the flea market and bought some Amish cheese (yummy) and then we had Chargrille for lunch and played at Pullen Park. It was great way to end the week.

Happy 5th Birthday Kaylee

We celebrated Kaylee's 5th Birthday this weekend!

Just a Swinging

Hayden has graduated from the little swing to the big boy swing. He was so excited to do it all by himself.

Random Rambling

So, I had a fantastic Birthday yesterday. Thanks to all who sent cards, called, or came by. I truly had a great day. I had a hard time when I turned 25, I just didn't take it well. But, I've come to realize that the older I get the more time I get to spend with my adorable little boy. And 26 isn't so bad. My sister came by and and brought me flowers and took me to lunch. Then my friend Candice and her sweet, adorable 3 week old little girl came over and we hung out and had a glass of wine. Greg got home and we went to PF Chang's (our 2nd favorite restaurant) and it was wonderful. Even Hayden was good! I even got a couple presents from my sweet husband. I really had a great day!

Then, at about 1:30 a.m. Greg and I woke up to the sound of Meko freaking out at our sliding doors in the bedroom. I leave the screen door open so if Meko needs to go out in the middle of the night all I have to do is open the sliding doors and not go all the way outside. Well, never again will I do that. Greg gets up to look and see what he's barking at and he says, "It's just a cat, Meko chill out." So, I get up and look and say, "Hon, that's no cat, it's a raccoon." This ginormous raccoon had knocked over the dog food container and was chowing down on some food. We tried everything to get him to go away. Finally, Greg goes and gets the broom and barely opens the door and was poking the raccoon to get it to go away. It finally did and Greg ran out and shut the screen door and we went back to sleep. When we woke up this morning the first thing Greg said was, "I can't believe there was a raccoon on our porch", and I said "I can't believe you thought it was a cat, your an idiot! " We had an exciting night!

Today I have been living with a heathen. Hayden has been horrible. He refuses to take a nap and that doesn't make me happy. He throws things, hits, and destroys everything he touches. He's spent most of the day in time out and it's not working. I'm at my wits end, I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm open for any suggestions anyone out there in blog land might be able to offer.

Anyway, sorry there are no pictures. I'll try and take some soon!

Simple Giveaway

Lately, I've been entering to win all sorts of cool stuff. Today I entered to win children's stationary. I know Hayden is too young now to send letters. But, it won't be long and he'll be sending Nana letters. Anyway, I've entered to win here on http://simple-reviews.blogspot.com/. We've chosen the Robot Create a card from Mudpuppy. Wish us luck!

It's raining...

Again!

Ani Rain Cloud

If my back yard wasn't a giant mud puddle I would let Hayden play in it. Hopefully, it won't rain again for a week. Thankfully, we did get a couple hours this morning outside. Hayden and I played with bubbles for at least an hour. He has also discovered worms and bugs, his new favorite thing. He's definitely all BOY, he picks them up and plays with them in his hand. It's really gross. My camera batteries are dead and I forgot to charge them. I'm sure he'll play with bugs again.

I didn't win

But I will continue to dream about my mixer! Maybe one day mom will give me hers. HA!

I really really really want this..

I just entered to win a $400 Williams-Sonoma Gift card on a site that I frequent often, Confessions of a Pioneer Woman. I really really really want to win this. So please keep your fingers crossed that I do. We'll know later tonight.

Wouldn't it be nice if I could spend some good quality time with this...

In the meantime, I'll keep dreaming.

I forgot

Just because I think this is adorable

What's new?

I wish I had tons of exciting news to share. But, we live a pretty boring life. We didn't do anything all weekend, it was still raining. We watched the Tarheels get their butts beat in basketball. It was such a bummer and Greg is still mourning our loss. Hopefully he'll get over it soon. Greg did try and teach Hayden how to play Xbox.

It rained all weekend and Hayden stood on the screen porch begging to go outside. He even ran out a few times and we had to chase him. He thinks he can just put on any shoes lying around and go on out.

Potty Training 101 is in full force and I am not having fun. I don't like it. I wish the doctor had handed me an instruction manual when we had Hayden. I feel like I'm flying blind. Although, he's doing surprisingly well. He loves his big boy underwear and he knows what it means to keep them dry. We've had only one pee accident since yesterday morning but tons of the other kind. I can change dirty diapers and it doesn't bother me one bit. But, I don't like #2 stinky underwear at all. You have to wash them out and that's just not for me. I've thrown away 2 pair already since yesterday because I'm a wimp. Since our nap time fiasco today, we are in pull-ups. Wish us luck, we'll need it!

Greg has started working a lot again since the store opens in the middle of the month. We went and saw the new store on Saturday and it looks really good. I like it better than the Durham store.

Wish I had more to report.

That's all for now.

Update

The weather here has been weird.

Hayden and I have been stuck in the house for what seems like FOREVER!

No car and lots of rain=no fun.

Greg turned 29 last Friday! Hayden went and had a sleepover with Landon, and had a blast. Greg and I had a nice relaxing dinner at the Cheesecake Factory (our favorite) and did some clothes shopping for Hayden at the mall. Then we came home and watched basketball. It was very nice to have some time together.

The opening of the Apex restaurant has been smooth so far. It's been a lot easier on us. Not sure if it's because Greg knows what he's doing now or if he has a better opening team. We've seen him more in the past couple weeks more than we have in the last 6 months. For that, I am thankful! Hayden likes it too!

We are down to one car, the "exploder" has finally exploded! Well, not really but I'm afraid to drive it. And to get it fixed would be more than it's actually worth. So for now it sits in the drive way collecting pollen and Hayden and I are stuck at home.

I don't really have much else to report since we've been stuck in the house nothing really excited has been going on. Hayden has been attached to his new rain boots that my sister gave him. They are really kind of silly since he can't really walk in them. If we don't get out of this house this weekend, I just might actually go crazy!

Hope everyone is doing well. So long for now!

Wordless Wednesday
